This summer has been one of the best I've had in a long time. I mean, I had classes during spring and I work in the lab and library a total of 40 hours a week, but there has still been room for much awesomeness.
For example, last weekend my journeys took me to the Los Angeles area, where we went to the beach and hung out. We watched movies, played with my friend's nieces and nephews (who were awesome, f.y.i), ate food, and swam. It was a wonderful escape from the normal Provo scene.
Or this last weekend, when we went down to Zion National Park and hiked Angel's Landing. It was intense, and there were a few terrifying moments, but we got through it safely and relatively unscathed. We then hiked a few smaller trails which were cake after Angel's Landing, but also not quite so awesome. However, I don't think I could have made another hike half the intensity of Angel's Landing that day.
One of the best parts about good road trips, when they are at their finest, is when the trip there and back in the car is just as fun as the actual experience that is causing you to spend time in the car. Now, the drive was a whole lot less epic than the hike and had fewer scary parts (I mean, scary parts on the road happen... it happens), but it was still a party.
In conclusion: The time has been well spent. The company usually was fantastic. The experiences were awesome.
