It's been nearly two months since I started this "101 things to do in 1001 days" project, so I thought it would be appropriate to give an actual update on what has been done and how awesome it was. With a preview of adventures to come.
5. Learn 50 new recipes:
On this, I only have 3 done, those being:
Lime Meltaways
Naan
Curry
The lime cookies were interesting... but I think they were good? I might have to make them a couple more times to have a firm opinion of them. The naan was interesting also. I might have to have naan a bit more before I do further experimentation in that realm. Also, the curry was pretty good.
7. Go to 20 new restaurants
Bonefish grill- was really good! I went when I went to Michigan and it was good! All seafood... and I love seafood. The end.
Provo Bakery- I'm counting it. Orange rolls= good, cookie=good, cinnamon roll= good.
Chinatown- Approved.
Rooster- It was good. I can't see this being my first choice or idea, but it was fun. Fried dumplings and boba.
Tommy's burgers- had this in California. In summation: chili. It was kind of intense. And chili is not my favorite. Not that I dislike it, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
Del Taco- Don't shoot me. Anyway, 3 tacos for a dollar is a pretty awesome price.
Ripple's- The drive in where "The Phone call" was filmed.
Spoon it up- Yes, it's frozen yogurt, but I'm counting it. It was good frozen yogurt, and you pay by the ounce, so you can choose exactly how much and what you want. It's pretty sweet.
10. 50 movies
1. Harold and Maude- It's wonderfully full of morbid humor. Don't judge, but it's amazing how funny it can be for a guy to randomly pretend to commit suicide.
2. Sahara
3. Back to the Future I- I liked it a LOT more than I thought I would. Also, watching it this past weekend came in handy when it started being quoted to me at work. In conclusion= it's good. I promise. And I'm looking forward to the next two.
15- Concerts-Ben Folds with the Utah Symphony
It was pretty spectacular. Ben Folds is pretty spectacular.
16. Learn how to decorate cakes
-I took Wilton's Course 1 this July. Details to follow in a later post. Promise.
23. Listen to a new artist every month-
I'm being pretty flexible with this one. Depending on the artist, they get anywhere from 2 weeks to a little over a month. I've listened to They Might be Giants (I like a good portion of it them... not everything, but a good portion of it. The sun is a mass...), Ben Folds, and currently Hot Hot Heat.
31. Visit 5 new places
1. St. Anthony, ID for Shelley and Jason's reception
2. L.A.
3. Zion National Park
46. Camp:
This is happening TOMORROW. Also, Redfish is going to be my number 4 on the previously stated goal.
56. Read 50 books:
Brisingr
Ender's Game
Speaker for the Dead
Xenocide
Please read them. Brisingr, however, needs follow the prior two books.
61. Have a flour war:
We had a ward activity doing this. If you have never had one, please have one. Now. And invite me.
71. Learn the electric slide.
Done and done.
72. Dance in the Rain
The best part about completing this one is that I completed it without even realizing it was on my list. Dance parties in the pouring rain= epic. And wet.
89. Run through lavender
Check.
90. Watch a new movie for every letter of the alphabet (not overlapping with 50 list earlier)
A- The A-Team
B- Better off Dead
C- Corpse Bride
D- District 9
H- How to Train Your Dragon
I- The Importance of being Earnest
K- Kal Ho Naa Ho
R- Return to Snowy River
S- Son of Rambow
T- Toy Story 3
92. Make a mobile herb gardenThe cilantro was lovely. Also, we have a nice variety of herbs on our window sill now.
96. See a movie in 3-D
Done! Saw Toy Story. Yes, I realize I counted this in the alphabet goal. Something may have to be adjusted here.
99. Climb a tree
I'm currently counting it, although I have a feeling I might be sent up the tree with the purpose of going halfway again in order for it to be approved by the panel of my peers. Or peer. You know who you are.
In conlusion: I think this whole thing is going fairly smoothly. Also, if you have any book, restaraunt, movie, or music artist suggestions, feel free to let me know. I'll be pretty grateful.
