Failure at the feminine.

A strange phenomenon is present in my life right now. That being, a large portion of my friends are getting married/are recently married. Granted, I'm not near that step in my life currently, but what with all the wedding planning and wedding picture stalking via the facebooks, I've come to a couple rather distressing conclusions.

Despite my best efforts to discover something to the contrary:

I do not like wedding dresses. They are nice. People look pretty in them. However, for the life of me, I have yet to see something that would appeal to me to attempt wearing for that whole getting hitched business. White. So much white. I'm already white enough, thank you.

I do not like wedding rings. You get a wedding ring, it stays on your finger for a long time. I'm not a ring person, first off. Secondly, yes, they can be pretty and I see how some rings make sense for some people, but I have yet to see how that piece of jewelry which signifies much commitment can be nice. For me. So much gaudiness. Or attempt at prettiness to the degree that it's just not pretty. Or metal. Blah. Also, diamonds? They're sparkly. That's nice. I guess.

Are those not two of the more important elements to this whole wedding nonsense? I hope to be proved wrong, I suppose.

Oops? I'm trying to improve.
